About Turnabout

Broken people, healed by the grace of God, helping other broken people heal

Addictions and mental health issues have been on the rise—particularly since the pandemic. Adults, teens, and even children are dealing with serious issues like substance abuse, depression, and even suicidal tendencies. Turnabout is a community resource center serving Carroll, Clinton, and Howard counties in Indiana. During the times when families, teens or children may struggle with addiction, mental health issues, or other life crisis dilemmas, Turnabout provides a trusted beacon of care, connecting critical and available resources to help, heal, and support all those who may need them. Turnabout is a safe-haven of empathy and provides a vision for a united, loving, community. Turnabout Community Resource Center, located at 190 N. Union Street across from the Post Office in Russiaville, is open daily standing in the gap to fulfill the needs as they arise.

How We Got Started

Turnabout Community Resource Center began with a desire to create an inviting space for people who are struggling with addictions and mental health issues to come into with the assurance that caring people would love them and not condemn them. It was formed to provide a place not associated with any church ministry or the stigma of a church building in hope of it becoming a greater initiative of the Russiaville community helping one another.

Those desires were the springboard that launched the ministry and the Lord has provided in amazing ways since, including our current location and the financial ability to hire an executive director and a full time administrative coordinator. We are excited to see how God leads us to help the many struggling people in Russiaville.

Mission & Values

Guiding struggling people to freedom. Helping hurting people find healing.

Christ

Christ is the answer for all our addiction and or mental health issues. We at Turnabout encourage people to check with their primary care physician to make sure the medical issues are under medical care and Turnabout encourages people to see their need for Christ in their daily lives.

Community

Recovery from substance abuse and mental illnesses has typically been conceived as an individual struggle. However, supporting recovery at the community level helps foster recovery on the individual level. Community recovery is more than the individual recovery of community members because it takes a villagea caring community who cares about those struggling by providing a venue for help, inspiring hope, creating vision, and increasing trust while sustaining and increasing the quality of community life.

Connection

People struggling with addictions, depression, or other mental health issues are often isolated, whether self-imposed or otherwise. At Turnabout, it is our goal to connect individuals to a caring community that can provide the help and accountability they need through confidential and trusted resources.

Hope

When someone is struggling with addiction or mental health issues they lose hope. We at Turnabout want to encourage each person that there is hope when we face the issues head on alongside of the person going through

the struggles.

Help

As a resource center, we are here to connect those who want change to those who offer the help needed to changeit may be detox, a residential facility, or any number of programs that we can help connect you or your loved one to.

Healing

Healing comes as the person sees that there is a growing sense of no longer needing the things they were dependent on that brought them to the point of seeking help.
